Moses Lake girls track 2nd, boys 8th at CV Invite

SPOKANE VALLEY - Wins in five events helped Moses Lake women's track and field place second at the Central Valley Invitational.
The Chiefs scored 114 points while the host Central Valley Bears placed first with 179 points.
On the men's side, Moses Lake took 8th place with 12 points. Central Valley also took first in the men's division with 140.5 points.
Alysha Overland followed her strong showing at the Moses Lake JV Invite with wins in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 300 meter hurdles. Overland and teammates Arlenaa Hannan, Casci Carpenter and Caylah Lunning also placed first in the 4x200 meter relay.
Currently, Overland's time of 25.46 seconds in the 200 meters has her clocked as fasted in the state in that event.
Lunning also took first place in the long jump with a mark of 16 feet, 11 inches. Selina Koon finished second in the high jump, third in the long jump and third in the triple jump.
Head girls coach Nicki Weiland said she was excited about the marks the team was putting up at this point in the season.
Moses Lake will compete next April 12 at the Davis Invite.
