Opland wins four events in Eureka

Troy sophomore Sean Opland owned the Eureka Invitational on Saturday, claiming first in 100-meter dash (11.27 seconds), 200 (23.26), high jump (6 feet, 2 inches) and long jump (19 feet, 1 1/2-inches).

Eureka won both the boys and girls events between Lincoln County’s three high schools. Abbreviated results are below.

Mountain pleads not guilty to seven Yaak burglary charges

Not guilty, seven times over. That was the plea Monday when Zachary Michael Mountain, 19, was arraigned before District Judge James Wheelis. Mountain faces as many as 140 years in prison for his alleged involvement last year in a string of felony burglaries in the Yaak.
