BIGFORK — Low scores weren’t easy to find, but a few golfers were able to get the better of Eagle Bend Golf Club on Thursday at the Bigfork Invitational.

Three boys and one girl shot sub-80 rounds to top the leaders at the Class B-C meet.

On a clear, blustery day, Seeley-Swan’s Micah Nicholas was the low golfer for the boys, finishing his round at 3-over-par 75, just ahead of Missoula Loyola’s Jared Geer, 76, and Tommy Tirrell, 77. The Loyola boys ran away with the team title thanks to its two leaders, topping Thompson Falls and Townsend, the latter placing three boys in the top 10.

Loyola’s Sadie Crippen, the state runner-up from last season, topped the girls field shooting a 78, five strokes better than Townsend’s Bailee Dexter and Anna Demars. The defending team state champion Bulldogs placed four golfers in the top eight to easily take the team title at the meet.

Bigfork’s Maddie Lorang was ninth for the girls, shooting a 103, and teammate Kalli Meagher was 10th with a 105.
