Flu outbreak claims two, Ephrata hospital closed to visitors

EPHRATA -- The public is asked to stay away from an Ephrata nursing home after two residents recently died because of a flu outbreak. Grant County Health Officer Dr. Alexander Brezny stated in a release that the staff at Garden Oasis Assisted Living is working with county health officials to contain the outbreak.

The center is part of the Columbia Basin Hospital. Charge Nurse Lori Bolin said that the public should stay away from the hospital if they can, and they will be required to wear a mask over their face if they do enter.
