Schweisow, Koon shine for Chiefs at Davis Invite

YAKIMA - Amongst competition from every athletic division in Washington, several Moses Lake Chiefs were able to post solid marks at the Davis Invitational this weekend.
Alek Schweisow was able to take first place in the 1600 meters with a time of 4 minutes, 32.48 seconds. Schweisow edged second place finisher Daniel Sanchez, of Kamiakin, by more than a full second.
With a few of Moses Lake top girls sprinters not racing, Kayla Grigg posted a solid time of 13.26 seconds in the 100 meters which was good for fourth place. Grigg also took ninth place in the javelin.
Colton Rose finished eighth in the shot put, while Elly Johnson nabbed fourth place in the discus for the girls.
Megan Roughan finished sixth in the 3200 meters with a time of 12 minutes, 37.26 seconds.
Selina Koon was able to notch top-10 finishes in the high jump, triple jump and long jump.
Moses Lake will compete in the Pasco Invite on April 19.
