Blanche A. Jones, 90, passed away at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on April 10, 2014.

Blanche was born in Perry, Iowa, on November 16, 1923, to Oscar and Elizabeth (Dettmann) Woolson. She was raised in Iowa, and moved to Los Angeles, Calif., in 1943 during the war. While living in Los Angeles, Calif., she met her future husband after he served in WWII and was discharged from the military. Blanche married Byron P. Jones on February 28, 1948, in Las Vegas, Nev. They resided in several towns in Southern California before moving north to Citrus Heights, Calif., in 1964.

Blanch worked for Sears while living in Southern California, and as a bus driver for 21 years in Citrus Heights.

In 2004, Blanch moved to Bayview, Idaho. Her favorite activity was spending time at the Coeur d’Alene Casino. She enjoyed ceramics, and watching Mariners baseball and the Game Show Network.

Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Byron, in 1984; and son, Raymond Jones, in 2004. She is survived by two sons: Richard and his wife Paula Jones, of Post Falls, Idaho, and Ralph Jones, of Bayview, Idaho; 10 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
