Friday night craft classes at BBCC

MOSES LAKE - Two crafts classes are scheduled for consecutive Fridays in early May at Big Bend Community College. The "No Experience Required" series is part of the college's public education series.
Each class is 5:30 to 8 p.m. and is limited to 15 people. Cost is $35 per person, college spokesperson Doug Sly said. Rie Palkovic is the instructor. Appetizers are provided.
Each class is at the Paul Hirai Fine Arts Building on the BBCC campus.
"Designs in Nature" is scheduled for May 2. Participants will learn how to use acrylic paint and markers to create designs based on flowers, Palkovic said.
Registration and payment are required by April 25.
"Handmade Books" is scheduled for May 9. Students will learn how to make three types of book bindings, including an accordion book as well as two Japanese techniques for binding booklets with string. Embellishment techniques also will be part of the class, Palkovic said. The registration deadline is May 9.
Payments can be made at the BBCC business office, or by credit or debit card at 509-793-2023.
