MOSES LAKE - After a lengthy break, Moses Lake (1-0, 3-2) was able to ease into CBBN play with a rout of Davis.

The Chiefs scored early and often, cruising to a 23-2 win in five innings.

"It was kind of nice," head coach Dave Gregory said. "I got 18 kids on varsity and I got them all in. Everybody got at least one at bat."

Peyton Ries started on the bump for Moses Lake, giving up two hits and striking out six batters.

Vanessa Rodriguez was 1 for 1 with a home run.

Moses Lake will play two more against Davis Friday in Yakima.

Ryan Pena and Blake Springer recorded two hits each. Springer and Brett Moser drove in a game-high two RBIs each.

Tyson Karstetter started for the Chiefs and fanned three Grizzlies in three innings of work.

Moses Lake will put its eight-game winning streak on the line Friday when the team travels for a doubleheader against Sunnyside.
