RICHLAND - A Quincy truck driver was sent to the hospital after losing control of his semi-truck and tractor filled with apples Tuesday morning while taking an exit from Interstate 182 to Interstate 82 near Richland.

The driver, Lauro Santos Castellanos, 51, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Kadlac Medical Center in Richland, according to the State Patrol.

About 9:45 a.m., Santos Castellanos was reportedly heading west on I-182 and failed to negotiate a right-hand corner on the on-ramp to I-82 east. The semi-truck and tractor left the road and rolled, coming to rest on its left side.

The State Patrol determined inattention was the cause of the crash. Santos Castellanos was cited for negligent driving.
