Wanted man escapes on foot

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies were unable to locate a man wanted on $125,000 worth of county warrants for felony bail jumping and violating the conditions of his suspended sentence after a foot chase in the Columbia Falls area. The man was initially reported driving through the area and was eventually located at a Third Avenue West property, where he jumped out of a back window and fled. A U.S. Border Patrol agent with a dog also responded to the scene, but to no avail.

A Conrad Drive woman reported someone was outside her apartment, shining a flashlight through her window and making animal noises. She told a dispatcher that she had bear spray and a knife, and that her sister had a concealed carry permit and a gun, and knew how to use it.

A Cobbler Way woman reported her neighbors for continually harassing her son, saying the incidents had escalated from picking on him and being mean to him to him being hit by one of the neighbor’s children.

A peeved parent called to file a complaint against a principal and teacher at his child’s school for “mentally abusing” his child by saying the school was better off when the child was absent.

A woman was arrested for violating her probation on a conviction for criminal distribution of imitation drugs after getting into a fight with a man on Lore Lake Road.

A very drunk woman was taken home after being reported acting drunk then being found, unconscious, in her vehicle in a U.S. 2 East parking lot.

A livid Ledgewood Drive woman in Bigfork trying to file her taxes reported someone had already filed taxes using her Social Security number.

A Bigfork resident on Black Bear Lane reported hearing six very loud shots in the area from either an AR-15 or a pistol.

A school bus with people living inside was reported parked in a South Fork Drive parking lot in Hungry Horse.

A Trails End Drive resident’s domestic partner reportedly stole $1,400 from the resident after an argument.

The Kalispell Police Department sent an officer to perform extra patrols in the area of Rosewood Drive after a resident was awoken at 1 a.m. when someone began repeatedly knocking on his door and ringing his doorbell. About 10 minutes later, the early-morning solicitor returned, this time trying the door handle. By the time the resident grabbed a bat and opened the door, the person was gone.

A drunk couple drew a police response when a woman reported her boyfriend had just jumped out of a second-story window after an argument. Their fight was found to be verbal only.

A frustrated Fifth Avenue West man reported he received an eviction notice from his landlord and the landlord now wanted him out just 11 days later.

A Two Mile Drive man reported an online company was trying to get him to buy their product and threatened to crash his computer if he didn’t.

A Liberty Street woman called police after her two children came home from the nearby park saying they could hear someone screaming.

A bicyclist was transported to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle on South Main Street, leaving him bleeding and twitching.

A man in a long, black trenchcoat was reported looking around like he was lost and acting strange on Fifth Avenue East.

An unimpressed U.S. 93 South resident reported his roommate was spreading lies about him.

Windows were smashed and tires slashed on several vehicles on Fourth Avenue East.

A drunk man was reported for refusing to leave a First Avenue West bar.

A sawed-off shotgun was seized from a person on Airport Road.


An East Seventh Street man contacted the Whitefish Police Department after hearing a loud thump followed by his truck’s alarm going off. A witness reported the sound came from a passing motorist throwing a bag of ice at the truck.

A concerned Cedar Street resident asked for an extra patrol due to speeding motorists in the area becoming a threat to the small children that play outside.


A Columbia Falls Police Department officer counseled a student at a 12th Avenue West school after the student was reported for using “inappropriate language.”
