Three performances of "The Borrowed Tomb," an Easter musical, will be presented this weekend by the Coeur d'Alene Seventh-day Adventist Church.
"The Borrowed Tomb" tells the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ from the perspective of two members of the Jewish Sanhedrin; Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea. Their struggle of faith and belief is portrayed as they interact with each other, members of the Sanhedrin, Mary Magdalene and Jesus. The production recounts the events surrounding the men's personal encounters with Jesus the Messiah.
The first performance is 7 p.m. tonight. The musical will be presented again Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.
All performances are free to all community members and will be held at 111 E. Locust Ave., Coeur d'Alene.
Doors open one hour early. Entrance will be allowed based on seat availability, so organizers suggest attendees arrive early. If the seats fill for a performance, guests will be encouraged to attend the next performance.
