HELENA — The Flathead softball team’s trip didn’t go as planned, as the Bravettes lost to Helena High 16-6 and Helena Capital 10-0 in Western AA contests on Saturday.

The Bravettes hit the ball well in the first game against the Bengals, tallying six runs on 12 hits.

Abbie O’Brien went 3-for-4 with a double and pitcher Kylie Beccari’s 2-for-3 effort saw her drive in three runs.

Unfortunately, Flathead couldn’t overcome the three home runs from Helena High, who notched 20 hits.

Against the Bruins from Capital, Flathead played tightly most of the way.

The game was scoreless heading into the third until the Bruins rallied for five runs.

Iris Matulevich went 2-for-3 for the Bravettes in the second game of the day.

Flathead will look to regroup Tuesday in nonconference action against Columbia Falls. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Columbia Falls.

On Thursday, Flathead hosts Glacier for a doubleheader at the Conrad Complex. Game times are 3 and 5 p.m.

Flathead completes a busy week on Saturday with a doubleheader at Missoula Hellgate.
