BIGFORK — The Bigfork girls tied St. Ignatius and defeated Troy while the Bigfork boys lost to St. Ignatius and Troy on Saturday in dual action that featured just two singles and two doubles matches.

The event was originally billed as the Bigfork Flight Tournament, but Cut Bank and Libby had to pull out before the event was held.

Bigfork’s lead doubles team — Alanis Stallkneckt and Brooke Bonner — easily won both their outings to lead the Valkyries.

“They didn’t play together last year, but they are matching up a really well,” Bigfork coach Paul Sullivan, Jr., said.

“They are showing a lot of potential.”

Bigfork’s top doubles team for boys — Adam Jordt and Isaac Martel — also looked sharp, winning by 6-2, 6-1 scores.

“They placed sixth at state last year,” Sullivan said of Jordt and Martel.

“They are looking really good, playing better now than they were at the end of last year. Those were a great couple matches for them. They are playing well together.”

Bigfork is back on the courts Tuesday hosting Whitefish.
