Robert and Geraldine Evans

50th Anniversary

Robert and Geraldine Evans celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, April 13, 2014, by renewing their vows in front of family and friends at the River City Church in Post Falls.

Bob and Geri were married April 18, 1964, at the Chapel of Chimes that was then located at the base of Tubbs Hill in Coeur d'Alene.

They have nine children, 12 grandchildren and eight (and still counting) great-grandchildren.

Bob retired as Postmaster of Coeur d'Alene in 1996. Geri worked at the Silver Lake Mall and Walmart, retiring in 2012.

Stephen and Sherry Hayes

40th Anniversary

Stephen and Sherry celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on April 13, 2014. They were married on April 13, 1974, in Spokane. Both were born and raised in Spokane where their fathers were firefighters together. They moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1978.

Stephen and Sherry are both retired. Stephen worked as a natural gas serviceman at Avista Utilities (Washington Water Power) for 34 years. Sherry was a special education paraprofessional for the Coeur d'Alene School District.

Stephen and Sherry have two children: Michael Hayes and Stephenie Walker (husband Micheal) both of Coeur d'Alene. They have one grandson: Logan Walker, 3.

ENGAGEMENT

Larson-Obermeyer

Mr. and Mrs. Don and Clixie Larson of Post Falls are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Ami Larson to Andrew Obermeyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon and Cindy Obermeyer of Emmett.

Ami graduated from the University of Idaho with a B.A. in education and biology. She is employed at Rocky Mountain High School in Meridian. Andrew graduated from the University of Idaho with a B.A. in PGA management. He is employed at Red Tail Golf Center in Beaverton, Ore.

The couple will be united in marriage July 2014 in Coeur d'Alene.

BIRTHS

Clint Nathaniel Schmaltz was born at 1:15 p.m. March 27, 2014, to Calli and Scott Schmaltz of Priest River. He weighed 8 pounds and was 20.5 inches long. Brother is Easton. Maternal grandparents are Craig and Gayla Turner. Paternal grandparents are Rick and Adele Schmaltz.

Jaxon Lee Babinski was born at 7:45 p.m. April 8, 2014, to Danica M. Babinski of Spirit Lake. He weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Maternal grandparents are John and Cyndi Norberg.

Andrew Charles Claflin was born at 7:29 p.m. April 15, 2014, to Nicole Lester and Ivan Claflin of Hayden. He weighed 8 pounds and was 21 inches long. Brothers are Brian and Zachary Lester. Maternal grandparents are Brian and Lana Dorval, and Dendra Dorval. Paternal grandparents are Carl and Tammy Claflin.

MILITARY

Air Force Airman Isaac X. Cehr graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Cehr is the son of Amber and James Cehr of Hayden, and nephew of Shaleen Trevino of Riverside, Calif. He is a 2012 graduate of Mililani High School, Hawaii.
