Hayden chamber annual award recipients honored

The Hayden Chamber of Commerce honored several area citizens and businesses Saturday during the organization's annual awards banquet.

The H.A.Y.D.E.N. awards were presented for Human Rights, Aerospace, Youth, the Distinguished Citizen, Education and New Business.

The banquet was held at the Resort Aviation hangar at the Coeur d'Alene airport.

This year's recipient of the human rights award was Monty Danner, owner of the Clark House in Hayden. Danner has been a longtime supporter of local human rights organizations, various nonprofit groups and has been involved with the North Idaho AIDS Coalition.

Jim Glenn, president of Titan Springs, received the aerospace award for his support of the North Idaho College Aerospace Center of Excellence and for his leadership role with the Idaho Aerospace Alliance.

Rich Swoboda received the youth award for his work and success with the Coeur d'Alene High School boys swim team.

Ben Tran, owner of Tran Creative, was the recipient of the distinguished citizen award for his numerous contributions to various organizations and for providing cutting-edge, award-winning creative work for many businesses in the area.

Corey and Rebekah Comstock were the recipients of the education award for their excellence in teaching and many contributions to their respective schools and the Coeur d'Alene School District.

The new business award went to Tessendorf Family Chiropractic for the many contributions Dr. Tom and Joe Tessendorf have made to the community in the past year and a half since their business opened.

Judi Cronin, branch manager of the Hayden Mountain West Bank, received the President's Award for her many contributions to the Hayden chamber.
