ML tennis loses to Wenatchee

WENATCHEE - The Moses Lake boys and girls tennis team lost to state-powerhouse Wenatchee over the weekend; both teams are 0-3 in league play and 0-6 in duals.
Chiefs tennis coach Richard Gregoire said that the boys' and girls' doubles teams played well. Chiefs #1 doubles team of Pedro Barreras and Bryan Earl played together for the first time this season and almost pulled off the upset against Wenatchee's #1 doubles team of Tobi Butler and Josiah Suarez.
Gregoire said that Barreras and Earl put together long rallies and amazing points as they saved four match points to force a second set tie breaker. Barreras/Earl lost 2-6, 6-7 (6-8).
The Chiefs #2 doubles of Chad Palmer and Nolan Knapp picked up the only win for the boys, as they defeated Blake Ansley and Caled Ness 6-4, 6-3.

The Chiefs #1 girls' doubles team of Carina LeFave and Kylee McKay remained undefeated on the season, after beating Wenatchee's Olivia Morgan and Annie Stefanides 6-4, 6-4.
Lefave and McKay took an early lead in the first set 5-2, before Wenatchee rallied to keep it close. In the second set, Lefave and McKay had to rally their way back for the victory; the pair is 5-0 for the season.
The girls' #2 doubles team of Ana Castano and Juli Medel forced a third set against Wenatchee's Carlie Heuple and Claire Devereaux, but fell 4-6, 7-5, 2-6.
