A Kalispell man who led police on a chase while riding an all-terrain vehicle has been sentenced to prison.
Corey Brewton, 44, had pleaded guilty to felony criminal endangerment. Felony counts of theft and fleeing from or eluding a peace officer were dismissed.
On June 24, 2013, Brewton allegedly stole the $2,500 ATV and a small trailer hooked to it loaded with wood from a Whitefish Stage Road home. He led officers on a chase during which he struck two vehicles in a parking lot.
Brewton eventually ran into the side of a patrol car and was thrown off. He was then arrested.
District Judge Robert Allison handed down the five-year Montana State Prison sentence during the April 17 hearing.
Brewton was also given nearly 10 months of credit for time served in the Flathead County Detention Center while the case was ongoing.
