A former Glacier Bank employee has pleaded guilty to theft by embezzlement after taking $3,100 from the business.

Kristen Kleiv, 27, of Bigfork, entered the plea April 17 in Flathead District Court.

Kleiv’s actions were discovered after her till was $3,100 short on March 15, leading to an internal investigation at the bank that showed she had been taking money since Nov. 6, 2012. She had been hired a month earlier.

During a later interview, Kleiv admitted taking $20 from her till on a regular basis until she was caught.

She now faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $50,000, and restitution to the bank when she is sentenced June 12.
