October 13, 1920 - April 18, 2014. Edith Mae Felts Peabody, 93, of Hayden, Idaho, passed peacefully into the presence of her Savior at her home on Friday, April 18, 2014.

Edith was the daughter of Allen Cass Felts and Gladys Elizabeth Dague Felts. She was born in Spokane, Wash., on October 13, 1920, and lived her early life in Colville and Wenatchee, Wash. Her father worked in the fruit industry during the Depression. During her school years Edith moved seven times, and attended five different grade schools. She was president of the Christian Endeavor group at her local church.

After graduating from high school in 1938, Edith completed a three-year course at Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland, Ore., a year at Whitworth College in Spokane, and a nurse's training course at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane.

On January 2, 1949, Edith married Robert "Bob" A. Peabody in Wenatchee. Within a year, she and Bob started a missionary career in Morocco, North Africa, with the Gospel Missionary Union (now Avant Ministries). They arrived there in January, 1950, and continued until the fall of 1969 when they moved to Malaga, Spain, to continue their missionary work under Avant Ministries.

Edith and Bob retired to Pennsylvania in 1986. They moved briefly to Spokane in 1993, and then to Hayden in 1995. After Bob's death and several strokes, Edith moved into her son's home in Hayden where she resided for the past nine years.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents, Allen and Gladys; three sisters, two brothers-in-law, and one grandson. Edith is survived by her seven children: Philip Peabody (Susan Johnson), Paul (Roycee) Peabody, Stephen (Janet) Peabody, Ruth (Mario) Garriga, Esther (Bill) LaMarche, Lois (Hilario) Pardo, and Joel (Debbie) Peabody; 19 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to remember Edith's life and ministry will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 3, at Grace Bible Church, 152 W. Prairie Ave, Hayden, Idaho. Donations in Edith's honor may be made to Avant Ministries of Kansas City, Mo. Please visit Edith’s memorial and sign her online guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com
