YAKIMA - Moses Lake (7-0, 11-1) won again, pushing its win streak to 11 games.

The Chiefs haven't lost in over a month and will go for the sweep against Eisenhower Friday after taking Tuesday's game, 13-2.

Despite Moses Lake looking seemingly unstoppable for the better part of five weeks, head coach Quintz Whitaker and his squad remain focused on the next opponent.

"It's not a streak unless you win the next one," he said. "I think that's kind of our approach, we just got to win one game and put them all together and they make a streak."

Whitaker has preached all season about breaking the schedule up into chunks in order to better focus on the next game. It helps that the Columbia Basin Big Nine schedule pits each team against each other one at a time.

"I do like the league setup," Whitaker said. "It works out, you kind of can focus on small pieces ... I think it especially helps us to kind of focus on each week and each team that we're playing so that we're not looking ahead."

Depending on the result of the Eastmont-Wenatchee game, which was unavailable at press time, the Chiefs could hold sole position of first place in the Columbia Basin Big Nine or remain tied for first with the Wildcats.

Moses Lake entered the fourth inning leading 4-0 before a seven-run outburst blew the game open.

Ryan Pena lead the charge with three hits and three RBIs.

"Ryan's just been a spark for us," Whitaker said. "He's been going up and swinging a good bat, giving us quality at bats ... It's been a good thing being able to see him kind of focused and locked in here the last couple of weeks."

Moses Lake will look to complete the sweep Ike Friday at Larson Field. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.

"We know that they're going to bring their game on Friday coming into town," Whitaker said. "Obviously when you're facing good teams like Eisenhower you're going to get their best."
