Glacier National Park plow crews clearing snow on the Going-to-the-Sun Road’s west side have reached The Loop switchback and are heading up into the alpine reaches of the highway.

Vehicles can travel 11.5 miles on the Sun Road from the west entrance to Lake McDonald Lodge, where the road is gated to motor vehicles.

Hikers and bikers can travel about 6.5 miles beyond the gate at Lake McDonald Lodge to the Red Rock pullout past Avalanche Creek. Hiker-biker restrictions are lifted after 6 p.m. and on weekends.

On the east side of Glacier Park, a plow crew has been cutting through about five feet of snow in the vicinity of Running Eagle Falls on the Two Medicine Road.

Vehicles can travel one mile from the St. Mary entrance to the foot of St. Mary Lake. There will be no hiker-biker access on the east side this year because of road construction activity.

The Camas Road on the Glacier Park’s west side is open to vehicles. All other Park roads remain closed.
