COEUR d'ALENE - The Coeur d'Alene Viking baseball team wrapped up its fourth straight 5A Inland Empire League championship, sweeping the Lewiston Bengals 5-2 and 10-3 on Saturday afternoon at Ted Page Field.

In the first game, Colby Kennedy threw a three-hitter, striking out four as the Vikings beat the Bengals 5-2.

"I'm very, very proud of Colby," Coeur d'Alene coach Nick Rook said. "We needed a good start out of him and he did a good job of pitching and getting a couple of short innings."

With the game tied at 1 in the fifth inning, Devin Kluss and Shawn Montee had back-to-back RBI singles to give Coeur d'Alene a 3-1 lead.

Nick Nyquist hit a two-run double to score Graham Thompson and Nathaniel English to pad the lead in the sixth for Coeur d'Alene.

Coeur d'Alene (16-4, 9-1 5A IEL) will be the top seed to the Region 1 tournament starting on Tuesday, May 6.
