MISSOULA — Carroll College junior Jackie Mee finished tied for fifth at the Frontier Conference golf championships at Larchmont Golf Course, falling short of a repeat championship on Tuesday with a combined score of 235.

Mee, a Libby grad, shot rounds of 80, 74 and 81 in the tournament, closing 11 strokes behind Lewis-Clark College’s Heather Bruce, who led the tournament wire-to-wire with a 224. Bruce, who entered the final day tied for the lead, finished with a final round 73 to win by six strokes.

Mee’s finish earned her a second straight appearance on the first team all-conference and vaulted the Saints to third place in the team results.

Montana Tech juniors Kiley McConnell (Whitefish) and Danielle McCully (Whitefish) finished 11th and tied for 12th, respectively.

Montana State-Northern junior Justin Newton (Glacier) finished 13th in the men’s tournament, the top finisher for the Northern Lights, and was named second team all-conference.

Montana Tech senior Zach Maassen (Whitefish) finished 22nd and Carroll sophomore Micahel Lavin (Flathead) finished tied for 24th.
