William T. Suttenfield

William T. Suttenfield, Jr., age 75, passed away on Friday, April 18, at his residence in Polson, after fighting a valiant two year battle with cancer.

William was born December 17, 1938 in Lodi, Calif. to William and Pearl Suttenfield. He attended Bruella School and graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1957. He married Dale Hillman in 1958 and they raised two children, Deborah L. and Rodney W. Suttenfield.

He worked in agriculture all of his life in different applications, culminating in a custom harvesting and trucking business from which he retired in 2004. In 2007 he moved to Polson, to be closer to his children.

He was a dedicated fisherman and hunter in his early years and totally enjoyed helping his son with his hay during his retirement. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be sorely missed by all of his family.

He is survived by his wife and children and their children; grandchildren Tracey and Jennah Siegfried and families, and William T. Suttenfield and his family; great-grandchildren, Jason, Grace and Austin Siegfried and Brooklyn Suttenfield; his brother Calvin Suttenfield and brother-in-law Richard Hillman and family.

A private gathering will be held pending arrangements. Donations may be made to Cheerful Hearts, Inc., P.O. Box 688, Polson, MT 59860 or to Shriners Hospitals in lieu of flowers.

Polson woman pleads not guilty to homicide

Danielle Jeanette Wood pleaded not guilty to deliberate homicide during a video arraignment Tuesday before Lake County District Court Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher at the Sanders County Courthouse in Thompson Falls. Wood is charged with deliberate homicide in connection with the death of Thompson Falls resident Matthew LaFriniere in May 2018.
