Boat thieves allegedly abandoned ship

SANDPOINT — A group of young woman accused of stealing a boat abandoned the vessel on the Priest River while the motor was running, according to the boat’s owner.
“They jumped out of the boat while leaving it running,” the pontoon boat’s owner said on Wednesday.
The group abandoned ship after apparently seeing law enforcement waiting for them at the Mud Hole recreation area.
