July was a record-setting month for Glacier Park International Airport, and 2014 is well on its way to being a record year for local air traffic.

The airport had its highest passenger volume ever in July, with 35,137 passengers boarding planes, and 36,552 passengers getting off planes.

Glacier Park International had a record year in 2013 with 200,472 “enplaned revenue” passengers and is on track to break that record this year with passenger traffic to date up 13.44 percent over the same period in 2013, Airport Director Cindi Martin said.

“The growing consumer demand reflects the appeal of the Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park region,” Martin said. “We appreciate our airline partners and their demonstrated faith in the region, adding up-gauged aircraft, increased flight frequency and service to/through more hubs.”

The airport is served by Alaska, Allegiant, Delta and United airlines, with year-round service to Denver, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City and Seattle, and additional seasonal service to Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Oakland/San Francisco and Portland.
