Signs stolen from cherry stand

A person calling the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office from Montana 35 in Bigfork Sunday reported that someone stole signs off a cherry stand. The caller suspected that a competing cherry sales operation was responsible. Those people said the reporting party causes them trouble, accusing them of various things every year.
A man calling from Foothill Road reported that sometime overnight, a Dodge pickup with a silver camper on the back was stolen, along with ammunition that was in the vehicle. The man said keys were left in the vehicle.
There was a report of a car being broken into on Mountain View Drive, with a wallet being stolen.
There was a report of a 9 mm handgun stolen from a vehicle on Weimar Way. Later, there was a report of a purse and wallet taken from another vehicle that was broken into on Weimar Way.
There was a report of a purse lifted from an unlocked vehicle on Maple Drive.
A man calling from Montana 35 said he had an encounter with three threatening men in the Old Steel Bridge area. He said they threw a rock at his truck.
Sheriff’s personnel responded to two water rescue calls Sunday afternoon.
One involved a report of a man possibly being stuck under a log jam in the Byrne Park area on the Flathead River east of Columbia Falls. The was located downstream and he was in good condition.
The other call came from Church Slough, where a man reported that his wife jumped in the water and did not come up. In that case, it turned out that both were intoxicated and fighting and the wife jumped out of the boat and was hiding on shore nearby.
There was a report of a house being broken into and damaged on Harmony Road.
A man reported that a pistol was taken from his unlocked vehicle on Foothill Road.
Someone reported that money was stolen from a mailbox on Stoner Creek Road.
A woman calling from North Somers Road reported that she and her daughter were assaulted by her son and his girlfriend. The son and girlfriend “went crazy” after they were asked to leave. The call resulted in someone getting arrested, possibly for partner-family member assault.
There was a report of mailboxes being vandalized on Foothill Road.
Someone calling from South Woodland Drive reported that windows had been broken out of a vehicle.
After Kalispell Police got a report about a vehicle swerving and at times blocking traffic on U.S. 93 North Saturday night, the vehicle was pulled over on North Meridian and the man who was driving it was arrested for drunk driving.
Someone calling from Empire Loop complained about a drunk woman who was laying in her yard, cussing and yelling. People at the same home said they would keep her inside and quiet.
Early Sunday, just before 1 a.m., there was a report of a vehicle running into a parked vehicle on Fourth Avenue East. The woman driver was subsequently arrested, apparently for drunk driving.
A woman calling from Kelly Road reported that two small children’s bicycles had been stolen.
Someone reported there were two girls spray-painting a picnic table off of Woodland Avenue.
After getting reports of a vehicle being driven erratically on Three Mile Drive, the vehicle was stopped and the man driving it was arrested for drunk driving.
Someone calling from a bar on Airport Road requested assistance in removing a underage woman who keeps trying to use fake identification there.
Early Monday, at about 1:30 a.m., five underage people in a vehicle were cited for possession of alcohol at Woodland Park and were later released to their parents.
After getting a report of a woman and man behaving strangely at a home on Lupine Drive, the 19-year-old woman was cited for possession of either alcohol or drugs.
There was a report of a man masturbating in the old Gateway West Mall off U.S. 2. He was later located and arrested.
Columbia Falls Police got a call Sunday from a store clerk on Ninth Street West who reported a man purchased alcohol and then gave it to some teenagers in the parking lot. The report resulted in at least one minor in possession citation.
Whitefish Police responded to a report of a broken water main on East Second Street Sunday. An officer was able to locate a valve and turn the water off.
Early Monday, at about 2:40 a.m., security at the Iron Horse subdivision reported encountering people in a vehicle who were suspected of trying to break into another vehicle. The suspects sped off before they could be detained.
The Glacier Park International Airport fire department responded Monday to a tire that was on fire on a large passenger jet. The situation was quickly handled.
