MOSES LAKE - Two pursuit suspects evaded arrest Thursday morning after fleeing into the Larson Housing area and ditching their vehicle.
Police reportedly first responded to a report of suspicious activity about 6 a.m. behind 4200 Airway Drive Northeast. A witness reported hearing a car pull up in the alley and what was believed to be a domestic violence incident, according to the sheriff's office.
Two deputies arrived to find a red Dodge Neon with a male driver and a male and female passenger inside. The driver was instructed to stop the vehicle and instead reportedly took off through the Upper Basin Homes area and then south on state Route 17, reaching speeds of at least 80 mph.
The vehicle then headed into the Larson Housing area and continued at high speeds when deputies stopped the pursuit because of a safety risk to the public, according to the sheriff's office.
A short time later, a homeowner in the 300 block of Carswell Drive called 911 to report someone in a red Dodge Neon had just pulled into her driveway and the car's occupants fled. Deputies arrived and initially detained the female passenger, whose name was not released, and impounded the vehicle. She was reportedly not cooperative with deputies and eventually released. The two male suspects were not found.
