SANDPOINT — The concept of a communiversity is built on a simple foundation.

As the foundational motto goes, “We are all teachers. We are all students.”

That unifying idea is set to spread around the world following the completion of the inaugural Association of Communiversities conference in Sandpoint last month. According to organizers, the conference left participants excited for the possibilities and filled contact lists with dozens of helpful, experienced new connections. In fact, the next conference is already set to take next year in Georgia.

“I think we’ll see this concept spread to many other places,” said Gus Whalen, one of the pioneers behind the idea of communiversities.
