Moses Lake - Gunshots again rang out Thursday night and early Friday morning in the Larson Housing Area, leaving a car damaged and a stray bullet through a woman's living room.

About 2:40 a.m. Friday, several shots were heard and a resident reported her car was shot at the intersection of Doolittle Drive and Canon Lane. As she was driving through the area, she reportedly noticed two men wearing dark hoodies and blue jeans. She told police one of the men began firing at her vehicle. She was uninjured in the incident, according to the sheriff's office.

Her vehicle received a bullet hole to the trunk area and her two front side windows were shot out. The sheriff's office and Moses Lake police responded to the area but were unable to find any suspects. Two shell casings were located on the north side of Doolittle Drive. A stray bullet also went into the living room of a woman's home and hit a coffee table.

"We are very thankful that this woman was not injured during this terrifying encounter, and I'm very grateful for the joint response with the Moses Lake Police Department," Sheriff Tom Jones said. "However, we don't have enough information to work with yet. We really need the community's help with information that leads us to the suspects before they hurt someone or worse."

About 9:30 p.m. Thursday, police received a report of four to six shots fired in the area of Lowry and Falcon streets. Deputies responded and searched the area. No injuries were reported and no damage or evidence was found, according to the sheriff's office.

Both shootings are believed to be gang-related.

"If you know anything about these shootings, please call us," Jones said. "Meanwhile, I urge our community residents to be alert and report suspicious activity in their neighborhood. Let's work together to get these suspects off our streets."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 509-762-1160 or send information to crimetips@co.grant.wa.us. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
