Road closure shifts access to Armory neighborhood
Whitefish Pilot | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 10 years, 8 months AGO
Access to Armory Road east of Cow Creek will be blocked off for two weeks beginning Monday, Aug. 18.
The closure is part of the East Second Street reconstruction project. A new box culvert will be installed at the creek crossing to improve water flow and fish passage. Work is to be completed by Aug. 31 before school starts.
The East Second Street railroad crossing will open Friday, Aug. 14, allowing access to the Armory neighborhood, Armory Park and the WAG dog park from Edgewood Drive.
Access to the Armory neighborhood from downtown will be from Voerman Road. Residents are advised to take East 8th Street to Park Avenue to Voerman Road, then turn north on Armory.
For more information, call project manager Brandon Theis at 212-4915, or the city at 862-2460.
