A Livingston woman died after a motorcycle vs. vehicle crash Sunday evening at the intersection of U.S. 2 and West Valley Drive west of Kalispell.
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office identified her as Lori Armentaro Smith, 59. She was a passenger on the motorcycle when the crash occurred shortly before 5:45 p.m.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene and the 58-year-old man driving the motorcycle, who suffered severe injuries, was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Both were wearing helmets.
The Montana Highway Patrol says the car was stopped at a stop sign and failed to notice the eastbound motorcycle before trying to cross U.S. 2.
The motorcycle struck the front passenger side of the car. The 43-year-old man driving the car and a child who was with him were not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
