Wall keeps vehicle on Going-to-the-Sun Road

 Someone obviously took their eyes off Glacier National Park’s Going-to-the-Sun Road Saturday, when a vehicle was driven onto one of the rock guard walls near Haystack Butte at about 1 p.m. The high-centered vehicle slowed traffic down, and it eventually was pulled off by a tow truck. There were reportedly two couples in the vehicle who are probably feeling lucky they didn’t go over the wall.

 

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Sunday about an entirely naked man standing by the Flathead River near a boat launch in the Creston area. The man eventually left, but neighbors in the area were going to keep an eye out for him if he returned.

There was a report of mailboxes being knocked over by a vehicle on Holt Stage Road.

Someone reported the theft of a wallet from a location on U.S. 2 west of Columbia Falls.

A woman called for help after her husband locked her out their home on Wishart Road. The woman was able to get into the garage but not the house, and she wanted to pursue charges of abuse against the husband.

A person calling from South Hilltop Road near Columbia Falls reported that someone has been going through mailboxes in the neighborhood.

Someone calling from Birch Drive reported the theft of two full gas cans from a yard.

A deputy escorted an intoxicated person out of the Flathead County Fairgrounds.

A woman calling from Whalebone Drive wanted help in getting an unwanted, intoxicated man to leave her residence.

Someone calling from North Meridian Road reported the theft of a cell phone.

A woman called from South Woodland Drive to report that her husband was in an argument with an intoxicated neighbor who had spoken rudely to the woman’s daughter. The neighbor was arrested for disorderly conduct, obstructing a peace officer, and driving without a valid license.

A woman called from Parliament Drive to report that she had been beaten up by a man who has been living with her recently.

Early Monday, at about 2:15 a.m., a woman called from Klondyke Loop for help with her intoxicated husband who was “breaking everything in the house.” The man ended up getting arrested for partner-family member assault.

A woman reported that her boyfriend contacted her, saying he had been assaulted and knocked out, and he didn’t know where he was. The woman said he didn’t sound intoxicated but she was concerned he might have had some head trauma. The man was apparently located and taken to a home on Bison Trail.

 

After a report about a physical disturbance at a home on Seventh Avenue West, a juvenile male was arrested by Kalispell Police.

There was a report of a suspicious person wandering into people’s yards and messing with lawn ornaments on First Avenue East North.

There was a report of four men arguing in an alley off Fifth Avenue East, and at least one of them had a firearm that was supposedly being brandished.

A person called from a business on North Main Street who wanted help in getting an unwanted man who was disturbing customers removed. The man was escorted from the property.

There was a report of a man acting strangely on North Main Street. The caller said it looked like the man was practicing martial arts.

A woman calling from Fifth Avenue East reported that she had been threatened and cursed out by a neighbor. The man later started playing very loud music, and he said he was going to “make the walls rock until 10 o’clock.”

A bartender calling from a bar on U.S. 93 South reported there were 10 people fighting. When law enforcement arrived, however, everything was calm and no one was fighting. Not longer after, a woman called from the same location and reported that she had been punched in the face, but she didn’t know who did it.

There was a report of a man harassing customers, and at one point scaring a car  load of kids, at a business on North Main Street.

Monday, at about 12:30 a.m., someone reported the theft of some items from a vehicle that was broken into on U.S. 2 West.

A woman was cited for shoplifting at a store on Third Avenue East North after a clerk spotted her stuffing sodas and other items in her purse.

A woman calling from Queens Court said he caught another man trying to steal his boat. The suspect left in a blue truck, and it was later learned that the man had inquired a couple of months ago about buying the boat, and he claimed that he was comparing hitch sizes when he was confronted.

Someone calling from North Meridian Road reported that he had been assaulted by two other males.

 

A woman called Whitefish Police Sunday, saying she saw several juveniles take a board off a window and enter a building on U.S. 93 South. Soon after, three boys and a girl were arrested for trespass.

Someone calling from Silverleaf Drive reported the theft of a bicycle.

Someone calling from U.S. 93 West reported the theft of a wallet from an unlocked vehicle.
