SANDPOINT — A Bonner County man convicted of threatening his former girlfriend with a pistol and engaging in a gunfight with her boyfriend has lost his appeal.

A jury convicted Richard Allen Larson of two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the alleged attack and shoot-out in the Upper Pack River Valley in 2011.

The clash occurred on Maker’s Way at makeshift cable gates that Larson erected. Larson’s ex-girlfriend had to pass through the gates in order to reach her residence.
