Eureka woman dies in U.S. 93 crash

Casey Faye Wood, 23, of Eureka has been identified as the victim of a fatal head-on car crash on U.S. 93 northwest of Whitefish on Wednesday.
According to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, Wood was the driver of one of the vehicles, a Honda Accord, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt.
The two occupants of the other vehicle, a Mazda from Alberta, were injured and transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
The southbound Mazda crossed the highway center line and crashed into Wood’s car, pinning her in the vehicle that rolled and landed upside-down near the roadway.
The crash happened at about noon near the intersection of Farm to Market Road and U.S. 93, hampering traffic on the highway for hours.
The crash is still under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol.
