EPHRATA - Grant County Assessor Laure Grammar and county public records officer Melissa McKnight will square off in the General Election to be the county's next assessor.

Grant County election officials certified primary election results this week.

Moses Lake Realtor Dave Dinges said he would prefer not to comment on falling 139 votes short of earning a spot on the November ballot.

McKnight garnered 1,374 more votes than the incumbent and said she wanted to thank her supporters. She said she was pleased with the results and she looks forward to working hard for Grant County taxpayers.

Grammar said that "knowledge, experience, leadership and ability," separated her from McKnight.

In other primary election results, Grant County Prosecuting Attorney Angus Lee fell 2,206 votes behind Moses Lake defense attorney Garth Dano in their bid to be the county's top prosecutor.

Grant County Commissioner Cindy Carter leads Quincy chiropractor Randy Zolman by 116 votes and County Treasurer Darryl Pheasant leads write-in candidate Casey Cooper by more than 10,000 votes.
