Power outages are planned for both the Troy and Libby areas this coming weekend.

The Libby power outage is planned to start at 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 and should last approximately six hours.

The Troy power outage is scheduled for Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 11 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. in Troy for substation maintenance.

Bonneville Power Administration, an agency under the U.S. Department of Energy based in the Pacific Northwest, is the service provider for both areas and is conducting required switch maintenance.

“Power outages like this are a routine event,” Deputy Clerk and Utilities Clerk of Troy Sandy Sullivan said. “There’s nothing to worry about.”
