SANDPOINT — City officials passed a $32,298,864 budget for the 2014-2015 fiscal year Wednesday following months of workshops and preparation.
With most of the budget planning and finessing accomplished during workshops scattered throughout the past few months, council members required little time to pass the budget. The council passed the ordinance authorizing the budget in a 5-1 vote with Councilman Bob Camp dissenting, saying there were some elements of the financial plan he couldn’t approve.
According to City Treasurer Shannon Syth, the budget approved by council members is about $4.4 million larger than the one established for this fiscal year. That’s almost entirely due to grant funding for various projects, she said.
