EPHRATA - With the 2014 race season winding down at Ephrata Raceway Park, the season point leaders extended their leads by taking victories in their main events.

The Jerry's Auto Supply street stock started the main with Moses Lake driver David Anderson on the pole.

Anderson led the first two laps until he and Randy Pugh made contact in turn one. Anderson's rear axle was damaged too badly to continue and Pugh was sent to the rear of the field.

Brad Morrison, of Moses Lake, wasted no time in working his way to the front of the pack. Morrison took over the lead on lap three and pulled away to big lead. Zack Anderson of Moses Lake had a strong performance and took the second spot with Kyle Childress, of Moses Lake, finishing in third place.

The Pepsi Racing sprint cars had a rough night with two cars experiencing catastrophic engine failures before racing even started.

Moses Lake's Adam Smith was in second place in the season point battle just behind his brother, Joe.

During time trials, Adam's engine came apart and put his position in the point standings in jeopardy.

David Macken, of Moses Lake, led the first five laps of the twenty lap main event. Joe Smith, of Moses Lake, took the lead from Macken on lap six and pulled away from the rest of the field.

The battle for the second spot provided race fans with dicey wheel-to-wheel action between Macken, Austin Weber, Eric Hector, and Tom Beierman.

Weber was able to push his winged sprint to the second spot and was followed by Hector.

Macken and Beierman finished out the top five finishing positions.

The Schaeffer Oil mini stocks saw Sid White hustle to the front to lead most of the main event to take the checkered flag.

Pat Lus was back in action and took the second spot. Chad McKinney took third.

The Ephrata Pioneer Muffler II adult V6 super cars and Kim Janke State Farm Agent youth V6 super cars ran a combined main event.

Ethan Smith crossed the finish line first to take the youth victory. Meanwhile, Rich Childress, of Moses Lake, was the first adult super to take the checkers. Ephrata's Richard Black was second with Chuck Johnson, of Ephrata, taking the third finishing position.
