Pilots from the 389th Fighter Squadron out of Mountain Home Air Force Base in Southwestern Idaho were at Glacier International Airport on Wednesday morning, August 27, to test an arresting cable installed by engineers from the 219th RED HORSE Squadron of the Montana Air National Guard in preparation for the arrival of the Thunderbirds and the Mountain Madness Air Show. The F-15 Eagle accelerated to more than 90 miles per hour, connected with the arresting cable and was brought to a stop within 900 feet. (Brenda Ahearn/Daily Inter Lake)
