SANDPOINT — A Washington state woman has been arrested for perjury for allegedly testifying falsely at a preliminary hearing in an attempt to protect her fiancé from a statutory rape charge.

Christina Marie Keenum is also charged with repeatedly aiding and abetting Joseph Blaine Herbst in violating a court’s no-contact order in a Boundary County case in which he is charged with lewd and lascivious conduct.

Keenum made an initial appearance in Bonner County Magistrate Court on Monday. Judge Lori Meulenberg sustained Keenum’s $50,000 bail on the felony perjury charge and appointed a public defender to represent her, court records show.
