EPHRATA - During the recent Grant County Fair, two men allegedly broke into a Jeep and stole a wallet, then broke into the vehicle owner's home.

According to police reports, Steven Ball, 19, and Cody Kelly, 20, both of Moses Lake, allegedly broke into the victim's vehicle by unzipping the leather cover on the Jeep.

Ball and Kelly used a crowbar to pry open the center console of the vehicle, and stole the victim's wallet.

Ball and Kelly then went to the Jeep owners Moses Lake residence and gained access to the house by taking a screen off of a window. While in the house they allegedly stole a video game system.

A witness saw Ball and Kelly at the residence and reported seeing them to authorities.

Ball and Kelly were still in the house when the police responded. They were able to escape without being noticed before police could search the residence.

According to police records, a witness told the police the identities of the men involved in the burglary. Police later made contact with Ball and Kelly and the men were taken into custody.

Ball and Kelly were charged in Grant County Superior Court with second-degree theft, second-degree vehicle prowling and residential prowling.
