SANDPOINT — Voter turnout during Tuesday’s Laclede Water District recall election was 48 percent, according to the Bonner County Clerk’s Office.

The district had 261 registered voters and 124 of them cast ballots in the special election, the clerk’s office said.

Those who participated in the election voted overwhelmingly to turn Harvey Hallenbeck out of office. One hundred fourteen people voted to recall Hallenbeck, while only 10 voted to retain him, according to the unofficial tally.
