Woman hears 'wild, growly' screams coming from man in the woods

The Kalispell Police Department received a suspicious report Thursday when a caller heard a man screaming near Woodland Park. The man sounded like “he was out of his mind” and the scream sounded “wild and growly.” Officers contacted a group of kids in the area who said they had seen a man screaming, but he was listening to music.

An intoxicated woman was found passed out on Third Street West.

A woman reported that $210 was stolen from her wallet while she was working.

A burglary was reported on Hawthorn Avenue. A .22 revolver, leaf blower and a Kindle Nook were among items reported missing.

A weed whacker was stolen on Second Avenue East.

A regional property manager called from Idaho to express her concerns about an East Center Street residence, where a tenant reportedly made passes at the manager and became very irritated when those passes were declined.

A man with an arrest warrant was reportedly trying to purchase a gun at an East Idaho Street location Friday morning.


Whitefish Police were called when a woman was spotted drinking out of a bottle of Fireball whiskey while driving on Baker Avenue on Wednesday.

A woman made a different kind of barking dog complaint from Baker Avenue when she told dispatch that she would walk her neighbor’s dog so it wouldn’t bark all the time.

A woman called police to say she could hear a ringing noise in her house.

A home burglary was reported on Swift Creek Lane. A computer, wallet, car keys and briefcase were among items reported stolen.


The Lake County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest on possession of dangerous drugs Wednesday on Edelwiess Lane.


The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to a curious call from Showline Drive on Thursday evening when a man had called to say his trash cans had been moved and someone had scratched “Uncle Tom” into the gravel road near his house.

A train depot employee called Friday morning to say that a man had tried to check a BB gun on the train but was told he couldn’t. The man left briefly and then returned without the gun, but the train employee was worried about whether he had put it in a nearby vehicle, as he said, or if the man was sneaking the gun onto the train.

A shoplifter was caught and detained on U.S. 2 East.

A Marion man reported that the wires on his air conditioning unit had been cut.

An intoxicated man was trespassed from a U.S. 2 East location for harassing employees Thursday morning.

A man had his belongings stolen out of his vehicle parked near the Stanton Creek Trail.

A group of kids were reported smoking on East Evergreen Drive.
