HAYDEN - Investigators with the Northern Lakes Fire District are still attempting to determine what caused a vacant trailer to burn to the ground in Hayden Tuesday night.

Deputy Fire Chief Pat Riley said at 9:39 p.m., his department was called to a fire on Kender Lane. When firefighters arrived they found a vacant single-wide mobile home engulfed in flames.

"On arrival, even if it's known vacant, fire crews will still do what we would call an 'aggressive fire attack' to it," Riley said. "Depending on the severity of the fire and the involvement we may not go interior and make an attack. But as a rule of thumb we would never let them continue to burn. It's just assuring public and personnel safety at that point."

Three engines were dispatched to the scene. Riley said members of his department were at the scene for approximately two hours.
