GEORGE - A Quincy man died when the car in which he was riding crashed with another one mile north on George on Aug. 21.

The deceased individual is Donald E. Wyles, 58. He died at the scene, the Washington State Patrol said. He was wearing a seatbelt.

Wyles was a passenger in a 2010 Honda Accord that was struck on the passenger side by a 2005 Ford F350 pickup. The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 281 and Beverly-Burke Road at about 11 a.m.

The Honda, driven by Carol A. Brown, 73, of Quincy, northbound on Beverly-Burke, slowed but did not stop at a stop sign at 281. It was struck by the pickup in 281's northbound lane.

Brown was wearing her seatbelt but was hurt. She was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.

The pickup was driven by Ronald D. Gebhart, 58, of Mount Vernon. He was wearing a seatbelt and was unhurt.

The Honda was totaled. The pickup sustained reportable damage.
