COEUR d'ALENE - The Blazen Divaz of Coeur d'Alene are set to hit the national stage when they perform in the MARS - Old Fashioned Christmas Parade in West Chester, Pa., on Dec. 6.

Forty-six members of the group, which was established five years ago, will head to the East Coast on Dec. 3 in order to make the final preparations for their dazzling routine featuring a choreographed dance, festive costumes, and lighting displays.

For Pattie Strub, a member of the group, the inclusion of the Blazen Divaz in the parade feels like a Cinderella story.

"It's a dream because we started this from scratch and you just can't get in a parade like that," Strub said. "It's always been our dream to travel and do parades in different cities."

Strub added that since the group that puts on the parade in West Chester also organizes other national parades, she hopes this event will serve as a springboard for the Divaz.

"While a trip and performance of this magnitude is an arduous task, the Divaz have worked hard to ensure that the group will be the hit of the show as each other group's members feels that they are the ambassadors and representatives of our state and most importantly, their beloved city of Coeur d'Alene," John Parmann, president of the Blazen Divaz, wrote in a press release.

In an interview with The Press, Parmann said the Divaz will perform their "Sleigh Ride" routine along the parade route, which features gift boxes lit with neon lights and plenty of dancing.

"It's going to be pretty spectacular," Parmann said. "They have an impact on young and old alike and they relate well. We're pulling out all the stops to bring them a real Idaho blazing group for their East Coast parade."

The parade will air on the QVC Shopping Network on Dec. 5 at 4 p.m. and will be replayed four times on both Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
