MOSES LAKE - Six people were arrested as police broke up a party in Moses Lake on Sunday morning.
Police received a report of disturbance and indecency at a residence on West Edgewater Lane, Moses Lake, at about 2:50 a.m. Sunday, according to information from the Moses Lake Police Department.
Upon arrival at the residence, police observed a 16-year-old boy exiting the house with a firearm in his hand. When the boy saw the officers, he allegedly ran back into the residence, according to the Moses Lake Police Department.
Officers chased to the boy, and were confronted by 18 people inside the residence. The boy then exited the residence and was apprehended about a block away after a short foot pursuit. The firearm the boy was seen carrying was located nearby.
About half of the 18 people inside the residence fled when officers originally attempted to locate the 16-year-old boy. According to police records, officers allegedly were assaulted and obstructed by the individuals as they tried to apprehend the boy with the gun.
The individuals who allegedly assaulted and obstructed the officers are believed to have fled the scene and escaped during the chase with the original 16-year-old suspect, the police report said.
Residents in the neighborhood reportedly chased a couple of people who fled the residence and jumped over their fences.
Responding officers spotted four people running from the residence when they had other suspects detained.
According to police records, Marvin Randolph, 39, of Moses Lake, was the owner of the residence where the incident took place. Randolph's son was present at the party, and police reports said he was friends with the individuals arrested during the incident.
Randolph was arrested for supplying liquor to a minor. The original suspect, the 16-year-old boy, was arrested for being a minor in possession of alcohol, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, first-degree assault, obstruction and resisting arrest.
Police also arrested a 15-year-old boy for MIP, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, obstruction and making false statements. Police also arrested two 17-year-old boys for MIP and a 20-year-old man for MIP.
