Dorothy Phillips Miller, 99
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 10 years, 5 months AGO
Dorothy Phillips Miller ascended to Heaven on Nov. 20, 2014.
Dorothy was born on April 5, 1915, to Edmund and Alta Hunt of Long Beach, Calif. At the age of 18, Dorothy and her first husband, Delbert Alfred Phillips, moved to the Silver Valley. Dorothy and Delbert's life together brought 10 beautiful children into the world.
Following Delbert's passing in 1964, Dorothy married Arlo Miller. Arlo graciously embraced her children and brought two well appreciated sons into the family.
In addition to being a tireless worker, loving mother and family counselor, Dorothy was known for her beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed singing for special occasions and at area churches.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Delbert Phillips; son Glen Phillips, and daughter Dorothy Cropp. She is survived by her sons Terry (Lisa), Roger (Dee), Donnie (Helene), Jerry (Dorothy), Arlo and George Miller; and daughters Leah, Fay, Nona, and Raema (Jerry). Dorothy is also survived by 22 grandchildren, over 47 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was the spiritual matriarch of the family and to all who knew her. She is now with her Lord whom she loved so dearly. A race well run, Mother! Rest in Peace.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the Post Falls Life Care Center who tenderly cared for Dorothy during the last five years of her life.
A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Lifeway Chapel located at 501 W. 15th Ave., Post Falls, Idaho.
