Sweet Adelines to dress as Santa's elves at annual Christmas performance
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 10 years, 7 months AGO
COEUR d'ALENE - The Coeur d'Alene Chorus of Sweet Adelines International will have a new twist on its annual Christmas program - instead of the traditional Victorian carolers, the a cappella four-part harmony group will be dressed as Santa's elves.
This talented group of local women will perform at 7 p.m. Monday in the Coeur d'Alene Assembly of God Church, located at 2200 N. Seventh St. in Coeur d'Alene.
Part of the program will feature special women who answered an invitation to "try on" Sweet Adelines by spending their Monday nights for the past two months preparing several songs to perform with the chorus at this event. The chorus will include in its performance four area quartets and this year's featured children's group, Harmony N Motion from Hayden Elementary School.
Led by co-directors Melodie Hays and Janelle Peck, the chorus will again delight the audience with a variety of traditional and modern holiday music, woven together in a charming scenario.
Tickets are $5 at the door. Children 12 and younger are admitted free and all are welcome to the reception following the performance.
For those who miss the group's lovely Victorian costumes, they may still enjoy them downtown this holiday season. Chorus members will be conducting their traditional caroling in small groups, in and around The Coeur d'Alene Resort and Resort Plaza Shops on weekends between now and Christmas.
